ShowBase Directors

Jamie Bradley

Jamie found his love for dance at a very young age at Theatre Express in Spain. Here he learned the basis of his technique and performance skills and took examinations with ISTD, LAMDA and ABRSM. 

 

At the age of sixteen, Jamie was fortunate enough to gain a place at a prestigious school in London. He attended Central School of Ballet where he was exposed to some of the countries most respected teachers and current choreographers. In the third year Jamie joined Ballet Central and toured the UK performing at over 30 venues. Whilst touring with Ballet Central Jamie was able to experience working within a company, including the crucial happenings behind the scenes. He also got to be a part of many workshops with local students, which gave him a great sense of achievement knowing he had passed on some of his expreience and knowledge to aspiring performers! 

 

After graduating wth a 2:1 Degree in Professional Dance and Performance Jamie secured employment as a featured dancer in Tokyo Disneyland's flagship show, One Man's Dream II The Magic Lives On, and has been fortunate enough to continue his employment at Tokyo Disneyland for three contracts. 

 

Jamie is excited to be creating this amazing opportunity for aspiring performers and hopes that ShowBase will inspire and push students to their limits, giving them a head start to their careers! 

George Reeve

George began his training at Redroofs Theatre School from the age of twelve and stayed on to their student department to the age of eighteen. Redroofs offered George a large array of performance opportunities in TV, Film and Stage fuelling his passion for performing arts.

 

On leaving Redroofs George was offered a scholarship to the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts where he trained in Dance and Musical Theatre.

 

Whilst in training George performed in various professional productions. He understudied and played the role of Silly Billy in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' (Civic Theatre, Chelmsford) as well as the title role in 'Peter Pan' (Octagon Theatre, Yeovil). After graduating George moved to Japan where he worked at Tokyo Disney Resort and performed as a featured dancer in their heading lining show 'One Mans Dream II, The Magic Lives On.'  Upon his return to England he secured a role in the UK premiere production of Cole Porters 'Jubilee' (Tabard Theatre, London) before going on tour as a lead singer with 'Pop Factor' (Adrenaline Productions). Towards the end of 2012 George played 'Peter Pan' for Qdos Pantomimes (White Rock Theatre, Hastings) where he received great reviews for his performance. At the start of 2013 George was asked to return to Tokyo Disney Resort for another contract.​

 

Throughout his continuous employment since graduating, George has been able to increasingly develop his knowledge of the industry. With this and his passion for the Arts George feels inspired to assist in the growth of up and coming performers through the exciting concept of ShowBase Performing Arts Intensives.​

Alex Thomas 

Commercial and Muscial Theatre

 

Alex started dancing at Rollo Academy of Dance in Nottingham and later developed his acting skills as a member of the BAFTA Award winning ITV Central Television Workshops. His professional training continued at Laine Theatre Arts from which he graduated with a Diploma in Professional Dance. 

 

Alex joins Original West end cast of Memphis in August 14' from the UK No.1 Tour of Fame where he played the principal role of Tyrone. Recent credits include; Dance Captain / ensemble in Peter Pan –Crewe Lyceum Theatre, ensemble in Disney's The Lion King (Original UK Tour), Thad/ensemble in Hairspray (Malaysian Tour) and featured performer in the prestigious Mystic Rhythms show for Tokyo Disney.

 

Additional credits; The Nutcracker (a Save the Children charity event) at the Guildhall, London; Christmas Commercial for Marks and Spencer, Trinity Dada 10th Anniversary Awards, London, Company dancer in Storm (Youth Dance England), Featured dancer in the M’Goo Projects’s music video -‘Let’s Fly to the Moon’ and modelling presentations for London Fashion Week

Alice Laidler

Ballet and Contemporary

Alice began training at the age of 3 in ballet, tap and modern at Hazelwood Dance Studios, Bury St Edmunds. Through participating in competitions and performing with the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain, she realised her passion for being on stage.

 

At the age of sixteen, she was awarded a place at the Central School of Ballet, London, where she was taught by some of the country’s most prestigious classical and contemporary teachers. In the third year, she was fortunate enough to put this training into practice by participating in the Ballet Central UK Tour.

 

After graduating with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree, Alice left London to complete two successful UK tours with Phoenix Dance Theatre, Leeds. It was here that she found her love of contemporary dance. This curiosity and passion for contemporary movement lead Alice to train with Limòn Dance Company, New York and the Batsheva Dance Company, Tel Aviv. Collaborating with many new and emerging choreographers, Alice is now a freelance dancer, teacher and rehearsal director based in London.

 

Alice cannot wait to be part of the ShowBase Team. She understands the importance of performance, individuality and, most of all, the enjoyment of dance in the professional world! She is very excited to pass her experiences on to the professional dancers of the future. 

 

Previous Guest Teachers

Aisling Duffy

Aisling began her dance training from a young age at the Dorothy Coleborn School of Dance in Bath before moving to London to attend London Studio Centre, for a further 3 years of professional training, at the age of 16. Since graduating in 2010 Aisling has worked continuously with established choreographers, companies and shows.

 

Aislings credits include: 'Into the Hoods' Royal Festival Hall, 'Thriller Live' West End cast, 'Wicked' West End cast, X Factor, T4 Cher Lloyd, Olympic Torch Ceremony, MOBO Awards Professor Green, Kylie Minogue Queens Jubilee. Aisling is very excited to be working alongside ShowBase and hopes to give young aspiring dancers an insight to what being a professional dancer requires and to inspire those who wish to continue on to build a successful dancing career.
